Man Utd watch William Carvalho
Manchester United are reported to have kept tabs on William Carvalho during Sporting's defeat at Rio Ave. The Portugal international has been long linked with a Premier League move with Arsenal and Chelsea also among his admirers.
The 24-year-old had a summer to remember as his display in midfield was crucial to Portugal's triumph at Euro 2016, the first major honour in the nation's history.
Portuguese source A Bola suggests that United scouts were in attendance to watch Carvalho in action as his side were humbled by Rio Ave by a 3-1 scoreline.
Jose Mourinho has kept tabs on the player since his time at Stamford Bridge, and it is thought that he is desperate to get hold of his signature, with the likes of Paul Pogba and Marouane Fellaini underperforming in the centre of the park.
Carvalho, who only penned a fresh extension earlier this year, is thought to have a £35m buy-out clause in his contract.
