Renato Sanches reveals why he rejected Man Utd
Renato Sanches has revealed that it was an easy decision to snub Manchester United once Bayern Munich came calling for his services. The teenager is regarded as one of the finest talents to come out of Portugal.
The Red Devils were deemed to be in pole position to land the young attacker from Benfica last season before Bayern Munich surprised everyone with a £30m deal which could potentially rise to £68m.
Sanches has now insisted that it was an easy choice to make with the Bavarian giants showing more confidence towards his potential.
“I had a good feeling about it right away when I heard about Bayern Munich's interest," he told reporters
“They really put in a lot of effort and I immediately got a feeling the people in charge believed in me as a player. That was the decisive factor behind my decision to join Bayern."
He added that manager Carlo Ancelotti also played a key part in his transfer with his calm nature being one of the positives. Sanches was part of the Portugal squad that lifted the Euro 2016 crown in July.
