Man Utd and AC Milan in for Isco
Manchester United face competition from Serie A giants AC Milan in their pursuit of Real Madrid midfielder Isco, according to reports in Italy.
Real Madrid playmaker Isco has been linked with a potential switch to Manchester United recently, but now seven time European champions AC Milan have thrown their hat into the ring for the gifted Spanish international, according to Corriere dello Sport.
United began to be linked with a move for Isco last week, as the 24-year-old old struggled to find a place in the starting eleven at the Santiago Bernabeu.
But now it would appear that Milan are also interested in signing the former Malaga player, with there seemingly being little chance of him breaking into Zinedine Zidane’s side.
Isco moved to Madrid from Malaga in 2013, and has made 99 La Liga appearances for Los Blancos.
But in the last 12 months, he has been a peripheral figure, as he failed to hold down a regular spot in the Madrid midfielder under Rafa Benitez initially, then under Zidane once the World Cup winner took the reins in January.
Isco’s lack of regular playing time led to his exclusion from Vicente de Bosque’s 23-man Spain squad for the UEFA European Championship in France this summer, and the player may need to move in order to revitalise his stalling career.
