Jesse Lingard to earn fresh contract
Manchester United are prepared to double the wages of Jesse Lingard following his excellent progress over the past year. The England international had his breakthrough season under former boss Louis van Gaal last term.
The 23-year-old has been a key player for the Red Devils since the start of the previous campaign, and his stunning winner against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final has placed him well in the hearts of the United faithful.
According to The Sun, the attacker will be rewarded for his efforts at Old Trafford with an improved deal which would see his wages being upped to around £50,000-a-week.
Lingard has two years left on his existing United contract, and it is thought that he would earn a couple of years' extension.
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has rarely featured Lingard in his playing XI this season, but the club are confident that the player will get his chance during the ongoing campaign.
