Spurs prepare bid for Milan Badelj

Spurs to move for Badelj in January

Tottenham Hotspur are preparing a winter offer for Fiorentina midfielder Milan Badelj. The 27-year-old impressed for Croatia at the European championships held in France.

The North London outfit were on the trail for the holding midfielder over the summer, but their interest diminished once they secured the services of Victor Wanyama from Southampton.

According to The Sunday People, manager Mauricio Pochettino will revive his pursuit for the player in the New Year having watched him closely during the Europa League clashes against Fiorentina in the past couple of seasons.

Badelj graduated from Dinamo Zagreb, a club through which former Spurs star Luka Modric evolved before he sealed a big-time move to Real Madrid in 2012.

Serie A giants AC Milan were deemed to agreed a transfer price for the player in the summer before the deal fell through at the final minute due to the lack of funds.

Fiorentina value their asset at £10m, but a fee of around £7m would be sufficient to land the talented anchorman.
