Reece Oxford stalls on West Ham extension
Reece Oxford has apparently stalled over a fresh contract at West Ham United amid his lack of playing time in the Premier League. The 17-year-old is on the radar of Manchester City and Manchester United.
ESPN says the midfielder has no intention of penning an extension at the London Stadium with manager Slaven Bilic reluctant to throw him into the reckoning for top-flight football.
The teenager made a bright start to the previous season where he featured in the 2-0 win over London giants Arsenal in the Premier League opener. His playing time has since reduced drastically with Bilic not willing to risk him at the big stage.
Oxford had featured for the Hammers during the Europa League qualifiers this term, but he has yet to take part in the club's ongoing league campaign.
City and United are keeping a close eye on the youngster's situation with his contract due to expire at the end of the 2017/18 season.
