Griezmann's friendship with Pogba could be encouraging for Man Utd

Antoine Griezmann has fuelled speculation over a future move to Manchester United by admitting he looks out for the Red Devils when they play, according to reports in France.

According to French sports newspaper l’Equipe, Griezmann has admitted to keeping a close eye on Manchester United’s games this season due to his close friendship with international team mate Paul Pogba.

Griezmann and Pogba grew close during the UEFA European Championship in France, where they helped the host nation reach the final before falling to a shock defeat to Portugal.

The Atletico Madrid forward was named player of the tournament and finished as the competition’s top goal scorer with six goals, twice as many as any other player.

The 25-year-old’s stock is high at the moment and he is expected to contest the Ballon d’Or with Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale at the end of the year.

Griezmann is believed to be a childhood Manchester United fan, and recently said that the reason he wears the number 7 at Atletico is because Red Devils legend David Beckham was his boyhood hero.

United are believed to be interested in signing Griezmann, and would not think twice about activating his €100 million contractual release clause should they receive encouragement that the former Real Sociedad forward would be open to moving to Old Trafford.
