Juventus to scout Anthony Martial

Anthony Martial news

The Frenchman has struggled for form this season

Italian champions Juventus are monitoring Manchester United forward Anthony Martial and will scout the French attacker during the international break, according to reports in Italy.

Tuttosport is reporting that Serie A champions Juventus are planning to scout Manchester United forward Anthony Martial during the international break, as the Old Lady appear to be picking up their interest in the 20-year-old.

Juve were interested in signing Martial when he was at Monaco, but last summer United made a whopping £36 million bid – potentially rising to as much as £58 million – for the gifted youngster to take him to Old Trafford.

Last season, the young winger finished as the Red Devils’ top scorer with 17 goals and drew widespread acclaim for his performances in an otherwise unattractive and under performing side.

However, the former Lyon youth team player has struggled to replicate that kind of form this season, with the breakdown of his marriage and his family returning to France supposedly the root of his struggles.

His goal on Sunday, coming off the bench against Stoke City in United’s 1-1 draw, was his first of the season, and manager Jose Mourinho has claimed that he is hopeful that Martial is on the road to rediscovering him best form.

It seems highly unlikely that United would countenance selling the 2016 Golden Boy award winner, and if they were to do so, a monumental fee would be required.
