Liverpool to hold Coutinho talks amid Barca interest

Liverpool are prepared to offer an improved contract to Philippe Coutinho with Barcelona keen on landing his services. Paris Saint-Germain are also keeping track of the Brazil international.

The 24-year-old has been the key performer for the Reds over the past year, and this has captured interest from a host of elite clubs.

According to The Mirror, the Reds will table a fresh long-term contract for Coutinho with Spanish giants Barcelona weighing up a possible bid for his signature.

Coutinho is currently on a £75,000 weekly package which is due to expire in the summer of 2020, but with Barca lurking around the corner, the Merseyside giants are more than willing to give him a substantial hike.

The midfielder has been in brilliant form for Liverpool this season netting four goals and three assists in all competitions.
