Barcelona eye Andreas Christensen

Barcelona are prepared to lodge a formal offer for Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen. The Dane is currently in the second year of his temporary contract at Borussia Monchengladbach.

The 20-year-old was one of the stand-out performers for the Bundesliga outfit last term as they claimed a Champions League qualification spot.

Reports in the summer had suggested that Antonio Conte could recall the centre-half from his loan stint at Gladbach with the Blues lacking the necessary depth in their backline.

However, the Italian thought otherwise and decided to recruit the likes of David Luiz and Marcos Alonso to bolster his fragile defence.

According to The Sun. Barca are prepared to test the Blues' resolve by offering a £20m sum for their young graduate.

Christensen is still unsure over his future at Stamford Bridge, and he could be sold in the New Year, should Gladbach agree to terminate his loan contract.

The Denmark international is also a transfer target for Pep Guardiola's Manchester City.
