Chelsea must cough up £50m for Serie A ace
Chelsea will have to pay a sum of around £50m if they are to get their hands on Alessio Romagnoli in January. AC Milan had rebuffed a £30m offer from the Blues for the centre-back in the summer.
Romagnoli, 21, has been one of the bright spots for the Rossoneri over the past year, and this has captured the attention of Antonio Conte. who keeps a close watch on players from his homenation.
According to The Sun, the Blues are determined to bolster their backline in the New Year with Romagnoli being the leading candidate in the shortlist.
However, they will have to come up with a £50m fee in order to tempt the Rossoneri into a suitable agreement.
Milan must offer 30-percent of the player's future fee to former side Roma, and this is something which restricted them from cashing in on their asset last summer.
Romagnoli is a full international with Italy having earned his debut against Spain earlier this month.
