Bellerin's representatives expecting Barcelona bid

Hector Bellerin news

Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin is expecting to receive interest from FC Barcelona, with his representatives awaiting a call from the Spanish club, but the cost of any deal may be too high for it to materialise, according to reports in Spain.

Barcelona based sports newspaper Mundo Deportivo is reporting that Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin’s camp are expecting contact from FC Barcelona regarding a transfer for the player. But the Blaugrana are unlikely to be willing to pay the kind of fee that would be required to sign the player.

Bellerin was part of Barca’s famous La Masia youth academy before moving to North London in his teens.

He has gone on to establish himself as arguably the best right-back in the Premier League, becoming a full Spanish international in the process.

Barcelona parted ways with their legendary full back Dani Alves in the summer, as the Brazilian signed for Italian champions Juventus on a free transfer.

The Camp Nou club did not sign a replacement for Alves and have instead been playing midfielder Sergi Roberto at right-back.

However the Catalan giants are now being linked with moves for specialist right sided full backs, including Manchester United’s Matteo Darmian.

It is believed that Bellerin would be top of their wish list, but with Arsenal unlikely to sell the 21-year-old for any less than £35 million, any deal is unlikely.
