Mkhitaryan has no exit plans

Armenian international Henrikh Mkhitaryan is prepared to fight for his position at Old Trafford this season. The attacker finds himself out-of-favour despite only joining Manchester United in the summer.

The 27-year-old signed for the Red Devils on a £26m deal in July following weeks of bargaining with Borussia Dortmund.

He has since earned five appearances off the bench while his sole start came in a 2-1 derby defeat to Manchester City, where he aggravated a thigh injury.

Having recovered from the minor niggle, many expected him to be drafted straight into the starting line-up, but Jose Mourinho seems to have other thoughts in mind.

Mourinho has opted to keep the player out of his squad for the games against Fenerbahce, Chelsea and Manchester City, and there are signs Mkhitaryan does not merge with the manager's setup.

According to The Guardian, Mkhitaryan is determined to stay put at Manchester United, and has no plans of leaving the side in the January transfer window.

The Special One does not believe the player has the necessary physique to play in the top flight, and this is something Mkhitaryan should improve on in the coming weeks.
