Man Utd favourites to sign new 'Ronaldo'

Manchester United are keeping a close eye on Benfica forward Goncalo Guedes with a view to a winter offer for his signature.

The 19-year-old, who is often likened to Cristiano Ronaldo, has been heavily linked with the Mancunian giants this month.

According to Portuguese source A Bola, the Red Devils have been watching the teenager closely in recent weeks with Jose Mourinho keen on pursuing the player's services.

The youngster has already earned two caps with the Portuguese national side, and it is believed that United are willing to match his £52m valuation to bring him to Old Trafford in the New Year.

Mourinho is on the lookout for a special player in January as he bids to transform his side into title challengers in the second half of the campaign.

Guedes has turned out over 40 times for the Primeira Liga holders since his first-team debut in the 2014-15 season.
