Chris Smalling set for fresh Man Utd deal
Chris Smalling set for fresh Man Utd deal
Manchester United have reportedly offered a contract extension to defender Chris Smalling despite his recent fallout with Jose Mourinho.
The England international was heavily criticized by the Special One prior to the international break after he showed unwillingness to play through pain in the game at Swansea City.
According to The Sun, the Portuguese coach still maintains a decent relationship with the centre-half, and this has urged the Red Devils to extend the player's stay at Old Trafford.
Smalling is contracted to United until the summer of 2019, and an improved deal will see him commit his future for a further two years.
The 26-year-old has earned over 200 appearances for the FA Cup holders in all competitions since arriving from Fulham six seasons ago.
