Hughes wants Berahino in January

Stoke City are prepared to renew their interest in West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino. The 23-year-old has no intention of extending his stay at the Hawthorns despite being in the final year of his contract.

According to The Sun, Potters boss Mark Hughes will return for the young marksman in the New Year with his side in need of a youthful striker to lead the line.

Berahino was the subject of multiple bids from the Potters over the summer, but the striker opted to stay put with the Baggies in the hope of earning a regular role under Tony Pulis.

Since then, the striker has earned just five league appearances with his last coming in September before he had a fall out with the manager.

Stoke City are prepared to table a £12m bid for the player, who is currently spending his time in a fitness camp in the South of France.
