De Gea very happy at United

Spain international David de Gea has insisted that he is content at Manchester United amid speculation over a return to Madrid in the summer.

The 26-year-old has been recently linked with a move to Real Madrid - a club he failed to sign for in the summer of 2015.

De Gea was due to link up with the European champions during Louis van Gaal's final season at Old Trafford, but a delay in the necessary paperwork pulled the plug on the transfer.

Since then, the former Atleti man has inked a four-year contract with the Mancunian giants with the option to extend his stay by a further year until 2020.

While speaking to AS, De Gea insisted that he is 'very happy' with his present club, and he is focused on the job ahead as they seek to qualify for next season's Champions League.

"The future nobody knows. The future is the future. I'm very happy here, it's a great club. In England, football is enjoyed a lot," he told AS.

"I'm not going to talk about [the Madrid speculation]. I will not talk about that subject anymore. I just have to keep focused on my club."

Apart from De Gea, Real Madrid also have an eye on Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois as they bid to recruit a world-class shot-stopper to their ranks next season.
