United in Kroos chase

Manchester United are reportedly set to renew their long-term pursuit of Real Madrid playmaker Toni Kroos.

The German international came close to joining the Red Devils during David Moyes' reign at Old Trafford in 2013 before he opted to move to Los Blancos from Bayern Munich a year later.

Kroos recently inked a six-year contract with the European champions, and though, they are reluctant to sell, United will lodge a ambitious attempt for his signature, The Mirror claims.

Jose Mourinho is on the search for further reinforcements for his already star-studded squad, and a move for Kroos will have no bearing on their chase for Atletico's Antoine Griezmann.

Kroos has become the key orchestrator in midfield for Real over the years. and it is claimed that United would have to cough up a sum in excess of £60m, and hope that the player is open to a fresh challenge.

The World Cup winner was initially said to be unsettled with life in the Spanish capital, but he has since managed to rectify his issues.
