Nabil Bentaleb seals Schalke transfer
German side Schalke 04 have confirmed that they have signed midfielder Nabil Bentaleb on a permanent contract from Tottenham Hotspur.
The Algeria international linked up with the Bundesliga outfit on loan last summer with the option to buy, should he attain a stipulated amount of appearances over the campaign.
Earlier this month, Schalke were said to be finalizing a £16m move, and it is now official that the box-to-box midfielder has inked a four-year contract with the club.
"When I came to Schalke in the summer, my aim was to play as much as possible and persuade the club to make the transfer permanent. Things have worked out brilliantly and I am thrilled," Bentaleb told the club's official website.
Bentaleb had been a first-team regular at Tottenham Hotspur between 2014 and 2015 before he fell out-of-favour under Mauricio Pochettino during the previous campaign.
With Victor Wanyama having arrived at White Hart Lane last summer, Bentaleb was offered the chance to further his career in Bundesliga, and he has indeed taken the opportunity with both hands.
