Murillo has emerged as a potential target for Guardiola

Pep Guardiola has been busy lining up targets for the summer transfer window, as he looks to freshen up and strengthen his Manchester City side for next season, with intentions of challenging for the Premier League trophy more convincingly next time round. The club have been rumoured to be showing interest in Middlesbrough defender Ben Gibson, but are apparently keeping eyes on an Inter Milan defender too.

Colombian defender Jeison Murillo has put in some impressive performances this season at the heart of the Italian giant's defence, causing Guardiola to see him as an appropriate figure to reinforce the City back line, according to Italian news today.

Vincent Kompany has had another frustrating season due to injury, and he alongside other senior defender Aleksander Kolarov may find themselves replaced in the summer with younger, less injury prone players at the end of the season.

Murillo has age on his side, being just twenty four years old, but also has experience, having played in Serie A, one of Europe's top leagues, and also representing Colombia on twenty four occasions.
