Buffon wants to avoid Leicester
Juventus goalkeeper and Italian footballing legend Gianluigi Buffon has revealed that the team he wants to avoid in Friday's Champions League quarter final draw is Leicester City. The Foxes progressed to the quarter finals, despite being the underdogs, beating Sevilla 3-2 on aggregate.
Six of the eight spaces in the quarter finals have been allocated so far, with Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund joining Juventus and Leicester, with the final two spots to be filled on Wednesday night.
The two remaining final sixteen ties involve Manchester City against Monaco and Bayer Leverkusen's trip to Atletico Madrid. With some of the best teams in the world remaining in the tournament, you might expect Buffon and his Juventus team to be wanting to avoid them, however it is the team that keeps on shocking everyone, Leicester City, that he hopes not to be drawn against.
Speaking about Leicester, Buffon said "they are a dangerous and passionate team who can cause trouble for opponents who take the initiative. We would have everything to lose."
With potentially two English teams in the final eight, despite not being fancied by the bookmakers, there is a good chance that the prestigious Champions League trophy could return to the Premier League, for the first time since 2012.
