Man City to beat Arsenal, Chelsea to Faouzi Ghoulam
Manchester City are apparently deemed frontrunners to sign Napoli contract rebel Faouzi Ghoulam in the summer.
The Algerian left-back has been a contract standoff with Napoli since the turn of the year with the club reluctant to match his demands for a £40,000-a-week salary.
Ghoulam is approaching the final year of his £15,000-a-week contract, and Naples president Aurelio de Laurentiis would be prepared to sell rather than losing him on a free next summer.
According to TMW, the Citizens are in the front seat to sign the talented left-back with a £12m offer likely to be made in the coming months.
Both Chelsea and Arsenal have also been credited with an interest in the player, but it appears that City are favourites with Pep Guardiola prepared to guarantee Ghoulam with a regular role.
Manchester City are due to add a couple full-backs to their ranks this summer with the likes of Bacary Sagna, Pablo Zabaleta, Gael Clichy and Aleksandar Kolarov all likely to leave at the expiry of their contracts.
