Bundesliga ace reveals Chelsea interest
Hoffenheim defender Niklas Sule has confirmed that he turned down a move to Chelsea in order to link up with Bayern Munich at the end of the campaign.
The 21-year-old will make his move to the German champions in the summer alongside fellow teammate Sebastian Rudy.
Speculation in December claimed that the Blues were planning a £26m offer to sign Sule, who has been impressive in the back three for Hoffenheim this term.
However, the central defender had no second thoughts of accepting a switch to Carlo Ancelotti's side where he would get the chance of extending his Bundesliga career.
"Both offers came almost simultaneously," he told TZ. "Of course it was huge for me that the Premier League leaders showed interest in me, but it felt better to stay in the Bundesliga."
Sule, who is now a full international with Germany, has appeared in 24 league outings for Hoffenheim - a side who are on course to clinch the final Champions League place.
