Mou keen on landing Monaco pair

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has identified Monaco duo Benjamin Mendy and Djibril Sidibe as potential targets ahead of this summer's transfer window.

The pair linked up from Marseille and Lille respectively in the summer after ignoring interest from the Premier League.

According to The Sun, the Special One has set his sights on a potential double swoop on the Principality outfit with the defence in need of sufficient strengthening for the next campaign.

United have utilized Antonio Valencia as the makeshift right-back in recent seasons, but there is still the lack of sufficient depth with the manager not presenting much confidence in the services of Matteo Darmian and Timothy Fosu-Mensah.

On the other hand, the left-back position is also up for grabs in the summer with Luke Shaw likely to part ways with the club having been ignored in place of Ashley Young in the left-back spot in recent games.

Mendy, who normally operates as the left-sided full-back at Monaco, recently earned his maiden call-up with Les Bleus during the international break. Meanwhile, Sidibe can feature on both sides of the central defence but he has been deployed as the right-back at the Ligue 1 leaders.
