Koeman wants Sigurdsson

Everton boss Ronald Koeman could be prepared to pay a fee of around £25m in order to acquire the signature of Swansea City playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson this summer.

The 27-year-old has been in fine touch for the Swans this campaign with nine goals and 12 assists, but despite this, he could find himself in the Championship next term.

Paul Clement's side are currently just above the drop zone in 17th place, and they will have to get vital points versus Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion in order to fend off competition from Hull City.

According to Sky Sports News, Koeman is huge admirer of the Icelandic footballer and is prepared to move in for his services amid the uncertainty over the future of Three Lions midfielder Ross Barkley.

Barkley currently has a week's time to decide on a new contract, and Koeman will probably sanction, should the attacker fail to agree to their terms.

Sigurdsson, who is also a transfer target for rivals Southampton, had been linked with an Everton switch last summer prior to inking a four-year deal with Swansea City.
