Man Utd to offer Wayne Rooney in striker deal

Manchester United will reportedly offer Wayne Rooney as makeweight in a proposed deal to sign Everton striker Romelu Lukaku in the summer.
The Belgium international has already snubbed a fresh extension at Goodison Park with a view to joining a bigger club this summer.
Both Chelsea and United have been associated with the marksman in recent weeks, and according to The Mail, the Red Devils will seek to earn the advantage by offering Rooney in a player-plus-cash deal.
Rooney, who is the club's all-time goalscorer, has found firsvt-team chances hard to come by this season, and he could assess his future when the season concludes.
Toffees boss Ronald Koeman has previously insisted that he would welcome the prospect of a Rooney comeback, and this could see them potentially negotiate a lesser sum in order to do business with Mourinho's team.
Lukaku is currently valued at a hefty price of around £85m following an impressive campaign where he has netted 24 goals in the top flight.
