Szczesny to secure permanent Napoli deal?

Poland international Wojciech Szczesny could end his long-term association with Arsenal amid the ongoing pursuit from Napoli.

The 27-year-old has spent the past two seasons on loan with Italian club AS Roma, where he has made a total of 80 appearances in all competitions.

Italian outlet Il Mattino suggests that the Pole could secure a permanent switch to the Serie A in the summer with Napoli have already agreed on personal terms with his representative.

Szczesny has previously suggested that he would 'love' a return to the Emirates, but the prospect of Champions League with Napoli may have turned his head.

The Naples outfit are currently on the search for a replacement for Pepe Reina, who is unsettled after club owner Aurelio di Laurentiis targeted his wife during the end of the season awards.

Szczesny currently has 13 months left on his previous Gunners deal, and his reluctance to prolong his career could urge the club to discuss an agreement with Napoli.

The Pole has turned out 181 times for the north London giants across all competitions with his last appearance being the FA Cup final triumph over Aston Villa in 2015.
