Spain international Diego Costa has given a probable hint that he could part ways with Chelsea during the summer transfer window.

The Brazilian-born striker had a top campaign for the Blues as he contributed 20 goals en route to yet another Premier League title for the west London giants.

In spite of this, Costa had crept doubts over his future by suggesting that he could be replaced by Romelu Lukaku, who finished second in the Premier League Golden Boot race behind Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane.

“I do not know - that’s a decision for the club. Of course Lukaku is a very big player who played an impressive season. I hope he can sign at Chelsea because it’s a unique club,” he told The Mirror.

Meanwhile, the Blues favourite also suggested that Batshuayi could have a key role to play next season as he 'could be leaving' the Premier League holders.

He added: “He is a boy who will take great steps. Hopefully he will continue to grow - he has all the qualities to stay here. Batshuayi may stay because he’s young and I could be leaving."

In a previous report on Sky Sports, Costa admitted that he would only consider a return to former club Atletico Madrid, and there is a distinct possibility of that happening with the Spanish club having failed with an approach last summer.

Antoine Griezmann has flourished in a two-man frontline at Atleti, and the club are looking for a world-class partner, who could push them towards trophy success at the new Wanda Metropolitano.
