Man Utd agree on £45m fee for Serie A winger
Manchester United have moved a step closer to signing Ivan Perisic after Inter Milan accepted their £45m offer for the Croatian international.
The Red Devils failed with a £26m approach during the previous week after the Nerazzurri stood firm on their £50m valuation for the attacker.
However, following a series of negotiations, the San Siro outfit have come up from their initial expectations to finalise a £45m fee with Jose Mourinho's side.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte had also tried to pursue Perisic using his Serie A links, but United appear to have won the race after Jose Mourinho personally meet with the player's representative in March.
Perisic bagged 11 goals and 11 assists for Inter Milan in what was a lowly campaign by their standards, and they have now given him the green light to speak to United as they look to balance their financial books.
The Nerazzurri are yet to achieve their Financial Fair Play targets for the year, and this has urged them to cash in on Perisic, against the will of the fans.
Inter Milan are due to make a substantial profit from the sale of Perisic, who cost just £17.5m from Wolfsburg two years ago.
