Bayern Munich join race for Walker
After a reported disagreement with club management, Tottenham Hotspur defender Kyle Walker looks set to be on his way out of the North London this summer. Manchester City were the clear favourites to sign the England right back, but now German champions Bayern Munich have joined the race.
Walker has established himself as the first choice right back at White Hart Lane in recent years, but a rift between him and manager Mauricio Pochettino towards the end of last season saw him left out of crucial games and replaced by Kieran Trippier.
Despite the player himself appearing determined to leave the club, the fact that he signed a new long term contract with the club last year puts Tottenham in a strong position going into negotiations and means that they do not have to sell if the price is not right.
The Sun reports that Bayern Munich have now joined Manchester City in the race to sign Walker, as they look to replace the legendary Phillip Lahm, who retired at the end of last season.
It is believed that it will take around £45 million to sign Kyle Walker, but if both teams continue to show strong interest, it could end up being a much higher fee.
