Dietmar Hamann has been awarded a new deal at Manchester city until the end of the 2008/2009 season. The central midfielder, despite being 34 years old, has been one of Man City's key players this season. Man City will be hoping that Hamann can take them into a european place this season after their great start to the seaso so far.
The German midfileder signed from Anfield in July 2006 after having won the champions league and was thought to be one of the catches of the transfer market.
Fortunately for CIty he was on his way to Bolton but he decided against it at the last minute and move to Man CIty instead. he has already won the Champions league with Liverpool and has played for both Newcastle and Bayern Munich na dwill be one of City's key player to try and guide them into Uefa cup or even Champions league.Hamann was lauded for his showing in the recent 2-1 win at Manchester United which left City just three points off the fourth Champions League spot.
