Arsenal legend praises Alvaro Morata after impressive Chelsea start
Arsenal legend-turned-pundit Ian Wright is in awe of Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata following his strong start to the Premier League season.
The Spain international joined the reigning English champions from Real Madrid for a club-record £60m in July, and he has since adapted excellently to the English game.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Wright praised the performance of Morata, who has impressed him with his movement and finishing skills.
He said: "What I’ve seen of him his movement is really good. His second goal when he ran the Stoke defence and finished it like he did – that made me say, “Woah!”. ‘What are we looking at here! He looks brilliant."
Morata has notched seven goals from his opening nine games for Chelsea, but he recently suffered a hamstring injury in the 1-0 defeat to Manchester City.
The Spain international is expected to find the result of an MRI scan on Monday afternoon, but the Blues remain hopeful of having him back for the Crystal Palace game on October 14.
Chelsea are currently positioned fourth in the Premier League standings, six points behind of Manchester City and Manchester United, who are unbeaten since the start of the season.
