Rose back on United radar?

Manchester United could lodge a winter offer to secure the signature of Tottenham Hotspur left-back Danny Rose. The England international was linked with a potential move to Old Trafford last summer after he hinted his desire to leave Spurs.

Rose, 27, was in the news for the wrong reasons in the summer after he openly criticised Spurs' transfer spending and wage policy in an interview with The Sun.

The left-back has since apologised for the incident, although he was fined two weeks' wages in order to avoid a similar instance from repeating.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Jose Mourinho remains interested in a transfer attempt for Rose, who revealed his intention to join a big-club 'North' capable of winning trophies.

Mourinho's former employers Chelsea are also on the hunt for Rose, although the Red Devils are said to be leading the race for the former Leeds United graduate.

The left-back spot has been a problematic position for United over the past year despite Ashley Young impressing in the role of late.

Young, 32, is not a left-back by trade, and Mourinho appears keen on pursuing a top-class performer, who could stay put for the long-term.

Should Rose arrive at Old Trafford, one of Daley Blind or Luke Shaw could make way with the former linked with a January move to Fenerbahce, as per Hurriyet.
