Arsenal eyeing move for AC Milan striker?
Arsenal could reportedly lodge an approach for AC Milan forward Andre Silva. The Portugal international has been identified as a potential replacement for contract rebel Alexis Sanchez.
Sanchez, 28, has shown no intention of extending his Gunners deal beyond next summer, and the north London club could be tempted to accept a cut-price move for his services in the New Year.
According to The Sun, Silva is the latest name to have propped up the Gunners shortlist following failed attempts to sign Monaco's Thomas Lemar and Leicester City's Riyad Mahrez in the summer.
Silva only joined the Rossoneri from Porto in June, but the club's hierarchy could be under pressure to sell, if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.
AC Milan have already lost sponsorship deals with the Adidas and Audi for the 2018/19 season, and any setback in their league ambitions could see the departure of key first-team players.
The Portugal international has contributed four goals for Milan this term, but none of those have come in the club's Serie A campaign.
The club's Chinese owners were hoping of closing the gap to the top with their big spending, and they have so far reaped no rewards.
AC Milan are currently positioned 10th in the Serie A standings, 12 points behind leaders Napoli, who hold a perfect record at the top.
