Tom Cleverley targets Watford win at Stamford Bridge

Cleverley fancies beating Chelsea at the Bridge

England international Tom Cleverley insists that Watford have the ability to secure three points against Chelsea following their recent comeback win versus Arsenal at Vicarage Road.

The Hornets took the game to the Gunners last weekend, and they recovered from a goal down to secure a 2-1 triumph over the north London giants.

Cleverley notched an injury-time winner for Marco Silva's side, and it was their first home triumph over the FA Cup holders in almost 30 years.

Meanwhile, Chelsea faced a similar 2-1 loss at the hands of basement club Crystal Palace on Saturday, and Cleverley believes that the Hornets can inflict more pressure on the reigning champions.

"I really feel we are building something here. Why not go and beat Chelsea? We go there with confidence With this squad of players and staff, you look forward to going into work on a Monday. It's a really good bunch of lads," he told Watford's official website.

"So it's a mixture of doing it for them and personally not scoring for a while, a lot of emotion came out in the celebration [against Arsenal]. It was a really good moment."

Chelsea face a tough Champions League outing against AS Roma on Wednesday night, and they have a short turnover period with the Watford game scheduled for a lunchtime kick-off on Saturday.

Antonio Conte's men failed to show up under a similar situation against Manchester City last month, but the manager will expect more from his players after back-to-back losses.

Watford are currently fourth in the Premier League standings with 15 points, two points and one position ahead of a star-studded Chelsea side.
