Barcelona could reportedly make a future move for Chelsea star Marcos Alonso. The Spain international joined the Blues from Fiorentina last summer, and he has since established himself as a regular in the starting lineup.

Alonso was initially deemed as a panic buy by Blues boss Antonio Conte, but the 26-year-old has evolved into an influential player, contributing eight goals in the English top-flight.

According to Don Balon, Alonso has emerged as a surprise transfer target for Barcelona with Ernesto Valverde not entirely pleased with the performance of Jordi Alba.

Alonso was among three players including Cesar Azpilicueta and Nemanja Matic, who were closely watched by Barca chief Roberto Fernandez last term, and it appears that the Spaniard is among the prime names to bolster the left-back spot.

The former Sunderland loanee is presently the undisputed choice in the left wing-back spot, and it would come as a huge surprise if the Blues listen to any future approach for their first-team star.
