Manchester United place £20m price tag on out-of-favour defender
Manchester United are prepared to cut their ties with out-of-favour left-back Luke Shaw during the upcoming transfer window. The England international has yet to make a Premier League appearance this season with manager Jose Mourinho urging him to work harder in training.
The 22-year-old joined the Mancunian giants from Southampton for £30m in the summer of 2014, and he has since been restricted to just 32 top-flight appearances.
Shaw's career took an initial setback in 2015 where he suffered a double-leg fracture, and he has not managed to return to his best form since with the likes of Matteo Darmian, Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo competing for places.
According to The Times, United are prepared to offload the Englishman in the upcoming transfer window with Jose Mourinho no longer regarding Shaw as a vital first-team member.
The Europa League holders are willing to accept a cut-price fee of around £20m for Shaw with his contract due to expire at the end of the 2018/19 campaign.
Shaw was expected to contend for the left-back/left wing-back spot following his recovery from a foot injury earlier in September, but he surprisingly found himself behind Ashley Young who has excelled in the position despite his age.
