Premier League trio chasing Manchester United defender
Premier League trio chasing Manchester United defender
After another frustrating season at Old Trafford, Manchester United defender Luke Shaw looks certain to leave the Red Devils this season as he looks to finally live up to the potential that he showed whilst bursting on to the scene as a teenager at Southampton. Whilst United don't seem to think Shaw is first-team calibre, a trio of Premier League sides are showing interest in signing him.
The left-back, still only twenty-two-years-old, has been unable to convince manager Jose Mourinho that he has the ability to be in his first choice team and was substituted at half-time during United's 2-0 FA Cup victory against Brighton and Hove Albion at the weekend, before being on the receiving end of public criticism from his boss.
Luke Shaw was, and still is, expected to be an England regular in the coming years, with the ability to effect a game in both an attacking and defensive capacity. However, a lack of game time and a number of serious injuries appear to have ended his chances of being an Old Trafford regular, with fellow England international Ashley Young keeping him out of the side currently.
With an exit expected in the summer, it is just a question of where Luke Shaw will move to. The Star reports today that Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester City and Shaw's former team Southampton all showing interest in giving him the opportunity of a fresh start.
It is believed that Manchester United would like to agree a deal with Tottenham, using Shaw as part of a deal that would see Danny Rose move in the opposite direction as Jose Mourinho looks to build a squad that can challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title next season.
