Arsene Wenger to be sacked over declining fan attendance?
Arsenal will reportedly consider sacking manager Arsene Wenger from he head coach role, if the attendances at their home matches continue to decline.
Most of the Gunners' season-ticket holders have boycotted recent league matches with the club expected to finish outside of the top four for yet another season.
The growing number of empty seats is unlikely to affect the club financially, but the club's hierarchy and board members believe that this could hamper their global brand and commercial value.
As a result, Wenger could be axed on grounds of the stadium attendances alone despite the club still having an opportunity to salvage their faltering campaign, The Mail reports.
Arsenal are presently in the Europa League semi-final where they face Atletico Madrid in a double-legged tie, and winning the competition would assure them of a back-door entry into next season's Champions League.
Wenger made a number of changes in the Premier League, and this saw the Gunners suffer yet another away defeat - this time to Newcastle United at St James Park.
