Jose Mourinho to bench Alexis Sanchez for FA Cup semi-final?

Manchester United head coach Jose Mourinho could replace stick with Alexis Sanchez on the bench after Marcus Rashford impressed during the recent league win at Bournemouth.

The Chile international has largely been inconsistent since his winter move from Arsenal and this saw him recently dropped after a shock 1-0 loss to West Bromwich Albion.

Mourinho has previously indicated that the players will only earn their places with performances on the field, and according to The Sun, Sanchez may not start the FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham on Saturday.

As such, Rashford remains a strong contender to feature in the left-wing role in a 4-3-3 formation which has proved the way ahead for the Red Devils in recent weeks.

Sanchez has contributed two goals and three assists in nine top-flight appearances for United, but he has still received plenty of criticism owing to his tendency to lose the ball on numerous occasions on the attack.
