Lingard in line for salary increase

Manchester United are reportedly prepared to hand Jesse Lingard with a payrise following his impressive form for the club this campaign.

The England international has cemented a regular spot in Jose Mourinho's side this term, contributing 13 goals and five assists across all competitions.

According to The Sun, the Red Devils are ready to reward Lingard with a wage hike which would bump his present salary from £85,000 per week to £100,000 per week.

Lingard had struggled to make an impact at Old Trafford previously due to his poor finishing but he has shown a vast improvement this season to the point that he is a regular with the Three Lions.

Gareth Southgate has gone with Lingard ahead of Dele Alli in recent international friendlies and this could be the case when England tackle Tunisia in their World Cup opener.

Lingard scored a season-defining brace against Arsenal back in December and he has the opportunity to replicate his showing when the Gunners visit Old Trafford this weekend.
