Carlo Ancelotti emerges as fresh favourite for Arsenal job
Former Chelsea head coach Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly emerged as the fresh favourite to succeed Arsene Wenger at Arsenal in the summer.
The Italian has been out of duty since his dismissal from the head coach role at Bayern Munich and he now appears to favour a return to the Premier League.
According to The Mirror, the three-time Champions League-winning manager has turned down the prospect of coaching the Italian national side and this has opened the door for him to join the Gunners.
Ancelotti has previously admitted that he would be interested in talks with the north Londoners but the club's hierarchy have yet to make any sort of contact with the 58-year-old.
Meanwhile, the Gunners are reported to have ended their interest in Luis Enrique with the Spaniard having demanded a £200m transfer kitty for this summer's transfer window.
Arsenal face Atletico Madrid in the second leg of their Europa League semi-final on Thursday night and they need to at least score a goal in order to maintain their prospect of winning the competition.
