Real Madrid centre-back Raphael Varane could reportedly push for a reunion with Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho at the end of the campaign.

The France international has transformed into a key performer for Los Blancos in recent years and he is presently the youngest player to have won three Champions League crowns.

According to Don Balon, the Frenchman may pursue a fresh challenge in the summer, should Los Blancos decide on recruiting a new centre-back to their ranks.

It is added that Varane has a particular preference for a Premier League switch with Manchester United after having previously worked under manager Mourinho.

Mourinho was responsible for recruiting Varane for Real Madrid back in the summer of 2011 and the Portuguese has since approached to re-sign the defender during his time at ex-club Chelsea.

Manchester United currently have the likes of Marcos Rojo, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Eric Bailly, Victor Lindelof and Daley Blind, who can feature in the central defensive positions.
