Aaron Ramsey's agent dismisses contract talks

The representative of Aaron Ramsey has dismissed suggestions that his client is negotiating a new long-term contract with Arsenal. The Wales international has just a year left on his existing deal with the north London club.

Ramsey has recently been named as the club's Player of the Year for the second time in four years but his future remains uncertain heading into the busy transfer period.

A fan account on Instagram claimed that talks have already begun between Ramsey and Gunners representatives but agent David Baldwin has refuted those claims by saying: "Not quite, we are still waiting!"

Ramsey currently has 12 months left on his current contract and the failure to negotiate a fresh deal could witness his summer exit. The Gunners faced the compulsion to sell Alexis Sanchez in January 2018 after the Chilean snubbed a contract extension and they are keen to avoid such a similar instance with Ramsey.
