Foxes keen to commit Vardy until 2021

Leicester City have reportedly opened up discussions with Jamie Vardy over a new and improved deal. The England international's current contract is due to expire in the summer of 2020.

According to The Star, the Foxes are prepared to reward Vardy with a one-year extension on his existing deal which would make him the highest-paid player in their history on £120,000 a week.

Vardy has been a consistent performer for the Foxes since their return to the top-flight and he has managed to score 20 or more goals in two of the previous three campaigns.

As such, the 31-year-old has attracted plenty of big-club interest from the likes of Chelsea and Atletico Madrid but the Foxes are keen to commit him until the summer of 2021.

Vardy is currently with the England national side as they prepare for the summer World Cup and the contract extension could be delayed until after the global tournament in Russia.
