Egypt FA give Salah injury update
The Egyptian Football Association has revealed that Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah will be available for the latter part of the group stages at this year's FIFA World Cup in Russia.
They made this known via their twitter handle, the BBC reports. They tweeted: "After the meeting of Abu Rida and the doctor of the national team in Spain today, the Football Association reaffirms Salah in the World Cup, God willing, will not exceed the absence of three weeks."
Salah got injured in the first half of Liverpool's 3-1 Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid last Saturday.
It is unclear if Salah would have won the game for Jurgen Klopp's side if he had been on the pitch for the entire ninety minutes, but he may have posed a huge threat for Zinedine Zidane's men.
The injury was a major blow for Liverpool whose season were boosted by the 44 goals the Egyptian scored across all competitions.
It was thought that the former Chelsea man would miss the entire tournament, but this news will console and probably boost the chances of the North African side to do well in Russia.
The Pharaohs are in group A of the 21st World Cup alongside hosts Russia, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay.
