Besiktas are reportedly prepared to offer an escape route to Davy Klaassen following a poor debut season in the Premier League.

The 25-year-old moved to the Toffees last summer after starring for Ajax with 20 goals enroute to the 2016/17 Europa League final.

However, his time at Goodison Park was largely confined to the sidelines and he managed just seven league appearances during his maiden campaign.

According to Sky Sports News, Besiktas are now determined to secure the signature of the former Ajax captain on an initial loan with the future option to buy.

Klaassen's agent has previously suggested that the Dutchman could stay put with the Merseyside outfit but the final decision could be taken by Marco Silva, who was recently appointed as the new Toffees boss.

Silva is expected to have a good look on his players during the pre-season and judging by their performances, he may sanction the exits of a few existing recruits.
