Liverpool confirm Emre Can exit
Liverpool have officially confirmed that midfielder Emre Can would be leaving the club at the expiry of his contract this month.
Can has been in a contract standoff with the Reds over the past year and the German's stance has now formally ended his association with Jurgen Klopp's side.
The German joined the Reds from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2014 and he managed to make 167 appearances during his four seasons at the club.
Can was initially expected to make the Germany squad for the summer World Cup but a back problem in March left him with no time to prove his fitness.
Meanwhile, long-serving defender Jon Flanagan is also expected to move on next month after struggling for form and injuries over the past two campaigns.
The Englishman made his debut for the Reds in 2011 after graduating through the youth setup but he could only manage 51 appearances for the club.
