Philippe Lamboley: Manchester United do not want to make Martial an important player

Philippe Lamboley, the agent of Manchester United player, Anthony Martial, has said that the former Premier League champions do not want to make his client an 'important player'.

According to Lamboley, United have been negotiating with the Frenchman about a new deal for eight months, but nothing has been concluded.

He had revealed earlier this month that the former Monaco man wants to leave United, a club he signed for under Louis van Gaal in 2015.

The player was a regular under the Dutchman but has lost his place in the first team under Mourinho.

Things got worse for the promising youngster as he was left out of the French World Cup squad.

Martial has a year left in his current deal with United having an option to extend it by another year.

Martial has been linked away from United in recent times, with Tottenham and Juventus showing interest.

As things stand it is looking very unlikely that Martial will be a United player next season.
