Southgate talks up England's chances

England coach Gareth Southgate has told reporters that he believes the team has a brilliant opportunity to do well having drawn in a favourable half ot he World Cup draw. England play Colombia on Tuesday evening.

England would take on Switzerland or Sweden in the quarter finals, then line up with a potential draw against Russia or Croatia after that.

"For this team, this is a brilliant opportunity to go beyond where more experienced teams have before them," said Southgate.

"The thing I want more than anything else is the players to continue to attack the tournament as we have. That shouldn't change now we are in the knockout phase. If anything we should feel freer.

"It is a game we are really looking forward to, the sort of match you want to be involved in. It is going to be a fantastic evening."

England have a tricky game against Colombia but there are doubts that star player James Rodriguez may not be able to take part.
